KLHC, THT to battle for MHL crown

KUALA LUMPUR: Defending champions Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC) will battle Terengganu Hockey Team (THT) for the Malaysian Hockey League (MHL) Premier Division title on Friday.

KLHC are definitely the favourites as they showed their quality in the 4-0 win over Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) at the KLHA Stadium on Thursday.

Muhammad Hafizuddin Zaidi (28th and 44th minutes) and Jang Jong-hyun (49th and 58th minutes) scored a brace each for KLHC.

KLHC coach Lim Chiow Chuan said: “It was a fantastic match. We are ready for the final battle against THT.”

“Today was certainly one of our best matches in the MHL. Rashid (Baharom) picked up a small injury but he should be ready for the next match. “

“We had our backs against the wall in terms of ability of players but the rest stepped up their game.

The match at KLHA Stadium was delayed for 45 minutes due to heavy rain,” said Chiow Chuan
