NFDP hockey trainee died of brain hemorrhage, post-mortem reveals

KUALA LUMPUR: A post-mortem revealed that National Hockey Development Programme (NHDP) trainee Bill Wolfson Lianie died of brain hemorrhage today.

Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) said Bill, a goalkeeper, took a shower with his teammates before complaining about feeling uneasy.

He fainted in his room.

Bill was transferred to an ambulance, and CPR was performed.

He was taken to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh where he was pronounced dead.

Bill was one of the trainees for the two-day MHC-AHF-Perak HA goalkeepers clinic, which started on Saturday, at the Raja Ashman Shah Academy in Ipoh.

Sarawak state coach Wilina Mac Carina Wilson was present at the clinic.

MHC development chairman Datuk S. Shamala said: "The MHC and National Sports Council have made arrangements for Bills body to be sent to Kuching tomorrow morning.

"Willina told me Bill was so excited yesterday to see S. Kumar who was conducting the workshop for them and took a picture with him."

MHC president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal and Perak HA president Sayuti Abdul Samat, who were at the hospital, expressed their condolences to Bill's family and friends.
