HONG KONG: A middle school teacher in southern China has been beaten up by a parent after she criticised their child for getting three marks out of 100 in a Chinese exam, Chinese media reported.
The woman teacher is still in hospital in Shuikoushan in Hunan province, the news website Thepaper.cn reported.
Police were quoted as saying the parent had been detained and kept in custody for a week while police investigate the case.
The teacher was not named and she supervises pupils as well as teaches at the school.
No details were given in the report about where the teacher was hit or how seriously she was injured. -- SCMP
