KUALA LUMPUR: A 4-year-old girl who was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital near Lucknow, India, was gang-raped by a male nurse and four other men.
The Saturday night incident came to light when the girl, who was in pain, managed to tell her grandmother what had happened, the Daily Mail reported.
The girl had been in the hospital for four days, undergoing treatment for a severe snake bite, when she was attacked.
It is unclear why she was left unaccompanied at the time.
The Daily Mail quoted local official Mahesh Srivastava as saying that police managed to capture one of the men, while a hunt is on for the remaining four.
He added that police are reviewing CCTV footage from the hospital, located in Uttar Pradesh state.
