#Showbiz: Ruhainies admits her mistake, hopes Aliff and Bella won't separate

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Ruhainies Zainul Ilyas has finally spoken up and explained allegations of her involvement in a khalwat case with actor Aliff Aziz at a luxury condominium recently.

Ruhainies, through her Instagram account, shared the real situation that happened on the day of the incident.

"On that day, I had just finished filming and was in a convoy with my personal assistant going home. On that same day, my siblings had planned to sleep over at my house.

"So, we planned to have dinner together with my siblings and some other friends.

"Since Aliff had also just finished filming, I invited him to join us because he has known my family and siblings for the past 10 years.

"Aliff agreed because it had been a long time since he last met them. Risteena (her elder sister Nur Risteena Munim) informed me that she was on her way home, but got stuck in traffic.

"So, I decided to go home and put away my filming equipment," she said.

Ruhainies explained that she and Aliff had a chat while waiting at home, and shortly after that, there was a knock on the door.

"I thought it was my sister because she said she was almost there. But when I heard a male voice, I naturally hesitated to open the door for safety reasons.

"Then, I called my sister again to come as soon as possible and check who was at the door. When she arrived, she confirmed that it was the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) and the police.

"She explained to them that she was supposed to have arrived and been with me in the house as we had agreed to. However, due to the traffic jam, she took a longer time since the next day was the weekend."

Ruhainies said her sister also informed her that Bella (Aliff's wife)and the media were also outside the door.

"So, for safety reasons and to avoid any unpleasant incidents, my sister requested that I not open the door yet.

"After discussing and reaching a compromise that only the authorities should be at the door, only then did I open it.

"After the inspection, nothing happened. But, following the necessary procedure by the authorities, I only needed to provide a statement.

"Once that was done, I returned home," she said.

However, Ruhainies admitted her mistake as being in that situation raised suspicions that could have been avoided.

"An investigation was conducted by Jawi , and I have full confidence in them. I would also like to thank Jawi for their cooperation. Full care was given to me during the incident, and they conducted a transparent investigation.

"I also want to emphasize that Aliff and I are just regular friends and colleagues in the drama we are currently starring in.

"Aliff is also a friend who know my family, including my siblings, for the past 10 years."

Ruhainies apologised for letting the matter drag on without issuing a statement and causing some parties to manipulate various untrue facts.

"I value my friendship with Bella, and I hope she and Aliff will not part ways. I am also willing to discuss with Bella when she is ready.

"I hope my statement will not be used as provocation because I have no intention of that. Instead, I am ready to clarify the situation between the three of us.

"There may be some who choose not to believe my statement. However, I cannot force anyone to believe it.

"I just want to explain the situation and provide an official statement from my side," she said.

It was earlier reported that a married celebrity and his partner, an actress, were arrested for khalwat after being accused of being together at a luxury condominium.

Following the incident, Aliff and Ruhainies each reportedly promised to provide further explanations regarding the controversy.

Previously, through Instagram posts, Aliff, or his real name, Mohammad Aliff Aziz, claimed that the enforcement officer's arrest report was exaggerated and too speculative compared to the actual story.

However, Aliff reportedly admitted that he understood the perception that arose because of what happened, which could raise suspicions that could lead to defamation.

Bella, whose full name is Dayang Nabellah Awang Astillah had filed for divorce from Aliff Aziz at the Federal Territory Syariah Court in Jalan Duta in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
