#Showbiz: DJ Radin opens neighbourhood clinic, dedicated to late mother

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular radio announcer Radin Amir Affendi Ahmad Aruani of Era has opened his very own 24-hour clinic in Klang, and he dedicates it to the memory of his late mother Feridah Hashim.

In a recent Instagram post, Radin, 31, said that he decided to start a clinic in his Klang neighbourhood Bukit Raja to give residents in the suburbs easier access to quality medical treatment.

He also said that doing so would make Feridah proud, because prior to her death from a respiratory ailment at the age of 66 last February, she had to endure long rides to the nearest hospital.

"It's sad that there was no major neighbourhood clinic where my mum lived. The hospital was quite far, quite a drive to take her there," said Radin, adding that his mother spent her final years in Ipoh.

"If there was a major clinic close to my mother's house, she might have received better medical treatment," said Radin.

"This new clinic, which is run by my doctor friend, is my labour of love to my late mum. It has always been her wish to see more clinics set up in small towns and suburbs."

The clinic, co-owned by Radin, is Megaklinik Zahran. It has state-of-the-art medical facilities and enables low-income residents to have easier access to the best medical treatment.

"It is also a good opportunity for me to expand my entrepreneurial skills. It is my second business venture. I also have a courier service which I set up two years ago."
