MBI names Saipolyazan M. Yusop as its new CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) has named Saipolyazan M. Yusop, as the company's new chief executive officer (CEO) with immediate effect.

He takes over from Norita Mohd Sidek, who has served in the top position since August 2020.

MBI said in a statement that it was pleased to have Saipolyazan on board and that it was confident his credibility and more than 30 years of business expertise would propel the company forward.

During the handover ceremony yesterday, Selangor Menteri Besar and MBI chairman Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said that Saipolyazan's dynamic leadership and skills will bring value to the company as it pushes for further transformation in the coming years.

"With his (Saipolyazan) excellent record across various sectors, the Menteri Besar is also confident that the collaboration and synergy between MBI and the state government can be driven to their highest level in a bid to realise the state's sustainable development agenda," it said.

Before joining MBI, Saipolyazan held several important roles in a number of companies and government-affiliated corporations.

He had served at Petronas, Telekom Malaysia, Celcom Axiata, and a major Middle Eastern construction company, among others.

He then assumed a more significant position when he was named CEO of the Selangor Zakat Board in June 2019 and Executive Jet Aviation Sdn Bhd in January 2023.

Saipolyazan is also currently a member of the Energy Commission.
