Onitsuka Tiger’s iconic Mexico 66 sneakers have been given the Valentino stamp of approval.
The collaboration between the Japanese athletic brand and the renowned Italian fashion house will see the sneakers bearing the Valentino ‘V’ logo on one side, as well as a co-branded logo on the shoe tongue and sole.
It also comes with superior cushioning, along with a durable and slip-resistant outersole and will launch in the next few months.
Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli has chosen vibrant colours for the collection, namely pink, orange and yellow as well as a more laidback white. These will be available from Valentino’s website and stores.
Meanwhile, the version from Onitsuka Tiger’s stores will come in its classic tricolour design of white, blue and maroon.
The collection marks Onitsuka Tiger’s second collaboration with a luxury fashion house, after Givenchy last year.
