KUALA LUMPUR: Award-winning actress Nabila Huda Suhaimi hates wearing coloured contact lenses, as they make her look ‘plastic’.
In an Instagram post today, the 34-year-old daughter of rocker Amy of Search advised women to “go natural” and be proud of their unique features, because “there is beauty in everyone”.
“I don’t eat pills to whiten myself, and neither do I take vitamin drips. I don’t believe in crowning my teeth to make them whiter, and refrain from plucking my eyebrows, too,” she said in her post which garnered 72,000 views and 2,186 comments so far.
Nabila also said she preferred to wear spectacles, not contact lenses, unless her on-screen characters had good eyesight.
“I don’t care if I’m a little bit chubby or have eyebags. We should stop being insecure with ourselves and believe that we women are beautiful in our own ways. Be confident and be yourself!”
Netizens strongly supported Nabila’s statement, and thanked her for speaking up about individual beauty.
