#Showbiz: Teary surprise for wheelchair-bound Siti fan

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s No. 1 singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza gave one of her diehard fans in neighbouring Indonesia a truly memorable and heart-warming experience recently.

The award-winning 40-year-old artiste had uploaded several posts on her Instagram account yesterday which chronicled her current publicity sessions in the Republic in conjunction with her upcoming concert in Jakarta on Feb 21.

One post featured a video clip of Indonesian TV channel Trans 7’s Hitam Putih talk show where a female polio patient had expressed her passion for Siti and her songs.

According to online reports, Khusnul Khotimoh, who hails from Surabaya in the East Java province, was also given the opportunity to sing a few verses of her favourite song by Siti during the live show.

She was a little saddened when initially told that the Anta Permana hitmaker could not make it to the studio for that particular episode.

But it was a truly memorable moment for the wheelchair-bound girl when she realised that the song playing on air was actually sung by Siti herself as the elegant songstress slowly sauntered onstage with a microphone in hand.

When Siti drew close and sat down next to her on a couch, a surprised and teary-eyed Khusnul took her hand and kissed it. After finishing her tune, Siti gave her a warm, big hug.

Apparently, Khusnul later revealed that it was her longstanding dream to meet Siti in the flesh although she had never thought that it would really happen. The Siti fan had long seen her idol as an inspiration and pillar of strength.

“Thank you for being a source of encouragement in my life. Just hearing your sweet voice alone has already raised my spirits,” she said.

After her concert in Indonesia, Siti will be performing in Singapore on March 2 and here at the Axiata Arena on March 16.
