KUALA LUMPUR: Nabila Huda Suhaimi may have a hectic schedule, but she always tries to spend quality time with her “best friend”, daughter Keisha Laila Zaidi.
The award-winning actress marked Mother’s Day last Sunday by sharing some of her fondest memories with nine-year-old Keisha on Instagram.
She posted a moving tribute to Keisha, complete with a photo of both of them seven years ago, in which she described Keisha as the “strongest girl in my life”.
Nabila admitted that she was not a perfect mother, and that she has to endure criticism from Netizens which she had chosen to ignore since what mattered most was Keisha’s love towards her.
Mother’s Day also happens to be Keisha’s birthday.
Nabila said: “When I look at all our photos, I feel happy and tearful at once.
“Too many things and memories we’ve gone through. We’ve travelled, cried, laughed, mummy sometimes breaks down but Keisha, you’re always my shoulder to cry on.
“You’re the strongest girl I’ve ever met in my life! You remind me of myself when I was young when mummy went through hard times.
“I’m not a perfect mum. A lot of people talk behind my back, tell other people I’m a bad mum, I can’t raise you properly, bad influence and so on.
“Yup, it hurts, but you know me better than others! You never judge me at all. You never judge my past.
“Thank you for being in my life. You’ve changed my life. You’ve changed me into a better person. You make me happy.
“Keisha, you’ve made mummy more mature. You’re my best friend. I can’t imagine life without you.
“I love you so much. Happy birthday my daughter and happy Mother’s Day to me!" said Nabila.
Her moving tribute to Keisha was praised by fellow actors and actresses who included One Nation Emcees singer Mimifly and Nur Kasih star Tiz Zaqyah.
“Happy Mother’s Day Abil and happy birthday Keisha!” said Mimifly.
“Many happy returns Abil and best wishes Abil,” said Tiz.
“Tahniah! Love you both,” said Nora Danish.
“Sporting mum all right! Happy Mother’s Day Abil,” said Janna Nick.
Nabila has been married twice, to Keisha’s father Zaidi Zailani from 2008 to 2011, and Mohamad Izwan Johar since 2015.
