KUALA LUMPUR: For the first time in history, beloved singers from three countries come together to collaborate on a Raya song titled Ikhlas.
The initiative, taken by Universal Music Malaysia, brings together Malaysia’s No. 1 singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin, Indonesia’s Nissa Sabyan and Singapore’s Taufik Batisah.
Composed by Omar K and Ikhwan Fatanna, the song drew inspiration from the theme of togetherness.
“I’m very excited for our fans to finally be able to listen to Ikhlas, a collaboration between three countries, aimed at highlighting the beauty of Syawal. It is also a reminder for us to always be grateful for all our blessings, especially during this blessed month,” said Siti.
Honoured to be recording the Raya single with Siti and Taufik, 19-year-old Nisa said: “I jumped at the opportunity to record the song because I loved the simple message the song brings, which is to be sincere in everything anything you do.”
For Taufik who finds it definitely amazing to see three different voices and personalities connect for this song, he said: “Despite all of us coming from different countries and having different cultures, at the end of the day we’re all human, and have much more in common than we know.”
Both the song and the accompanying music video will be released exclusively on Apple Music on May 31, just in time for the Syawal festivities. They will be able on all other music platforms on June 7.
