#Showbiz: Rita Rudaini lends senior citizen care centre a helping hand

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Rita Rudaini collected RM7,000 in two days to help Pusat Jagaan Mahmudah in Semenyih, Selangor.

In a news report yesterday, the 44-year-old actress said the initiative was carried out together with her fan club, Rita Rudaini Fans Club (RRFC), after hearing that the senior citizen care centre was in need of supplies during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

"I've done charity visits via RRFC before and that's when I was made aware that the centre needs RM60,000 a month to maintain its services which also includes medicine and food for its residents.

"But the centre has suffered since the MCO came into effect, so we wanted to help out as much as we can.

"We did not publicise it initially but only used WhatsApp to inform our friends. We really welcome anyone who wants to help out," she said.

The actress added that the centre needs assistance now more than ever.

“I've seen their situation before and at the time they had ample help. Right now, things are pretty bad for them.

“I really hope that whatever donation that have been given to them will be of help.

"Those who want to contribute can do so via the Rita Rudaini Fans Club Instagram account,” she said.
