#Showbiz: Siti sets up charity fund for those affected by Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR: The country’s No. 1 singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin has taken the initiative to set up a fund to help the frontliners and Malaysians impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The fund, called Dana Peduli, Kemanusiaan, Prihatin Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza (Dana PKP Siti Nurhaliza), is set up via her company Siti Nurhaliza Productions (SNP).

Quoted in the report, Siti said that the fund raised will be divided into three categories: Peduli (Care), Kemanusiaan (Humanity) and Prihatin (Concern).

“Through Peduli category, we will use the money raised to provide facilities and basic necessities for health care centres which are dealing with Covid-19 cases.

“The second category will channel assistance to help individuals or families whose livelihood had been affected due to the pandemic and its consequences. We also want to assist families of the disabled and those who are suffering from chronic illnesses,” she said.

The third category will be assistance especially set up for the upcoming months of Ramadan and Syawal, to help the less fortunate and charity organisations, she said.

As a start, the 41-year-old celebrity is targeting to raise a total of RM50,000 for the Peduli category.

“We will increase our target as we go along, as we would like to channel as much assistance to those who need help,” said Siti who added that those who are interested in making donations could do so via www.kitafund.com.

Meanwhile, Siti is scheduled to appear on the programme YouTube Live PKP Siti Nurhaliza via Siti Official Video channel on April 19, at 2.30pm.
