#Showbiz: Be sensitive to the feelings of others, says Nora Ariffin

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Datuk Nora Ariffin hopes public figures including celebrities and Instafamous individuals be more mindful when posting their activities and events on social media during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 48-year-old artiste said that many people were affected by the pandemic, as they try to embrace the new normal.

She said that failing to follow the SOP set by the authorities could easily irk the general public, especially when the violators were public figures.

"Please be mindful of the sensitivity of the community at large, many of whom are going through a very hard time now.

"You may do whatever that pleases you, as long as you don't share your activities (which may not be according to the SOP) on your social media. Let's just keep them for your eyes only," she said in a recent Insta-story post.

However, the post has since been deleted.

Of late, Netizens have expressed their dissatisfaction to see celebrities caught red-handed for flouting the SOP, beginning from Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor's wedding, followed by the newlyweds' interstate travel and "honeymoon" in Langkawi, and their recent carpet-shopping excursion in Nilai, Negri Sembilan.

New mother singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin was also embroiled in the controversy surrounding the event held for her newborn earlier this week, when one of the preachers invited was from the East Coast (which meant inter-state travel had taken place).
