#Showbiz: 'Keluarga 69' star Julie Faridah dies

Seniman secretary-general Hafiz Nafiah said that the unfortunate news was confirmed by the late artiste's daughter and former TV3 personality, Aziah Jasmin Azizul.

"According to Aziah, her mother went calmly in the presence of her three children two weeks after being admitted to the hospital.

"Her remains were bathed and clothed at home in Jalan Watson, Ipoh before her body was transferred to Perkarangan Masjid Datuk Panglima Kinta where she was buried next to her husband's grave at 11am.

"Aziah was grateful that the burial process went smoothly," he said in a news report yesterday.

Born on Nov 25, 1944 in Bentong, Pahang, Julie is best known for her role as Faridah in the classic 1967 comedy Keluarga 69 which was directed by the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee.

She would later take a bow from the entertainment world to follow her late husband, Datuk Seri Azizul Hassan, a senior police officer who also held the title of "Orang Besar Jajahan Kinta" at one time.

Julie leaves behind a son and two daughters.

The late actress is related to Perlis royalty via her son Mohammad Yaakob.

He is married to Tengku Puteri Mahkota Perlis Sharifah Fariza Duli Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, the youngest daughter of Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail.
