MH17: Update: One minute silence observed

SEPANG: The atmosphere outside the Bunga Raya Complex at Kuala Lumpur International Airport is quiet and sombre as nine more remains of MH17 victims arriving home today.

TIMELINE:

0906: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor leaving the complex

0904: Ceremony ends

0858: A call for a minute of silence is called.

0855: The last two urns containing Loh and her husband’s Fan ashes being taken out from the aircraft belly and lowered to thd ground

0853: The two urns containing remains of Captain Eugene, flight steward Sanjid and the casket containing Muhd Firdaus’ remains are brought to the hearse

0844: The first two caskets being loaded from the aircraft.

0849: The small casket containing the remains of two-year-old Kaelamayajay Goes and her Dutch father Paul Goes are brought to the heares.

Cars were seen going in and out of the complex as buses ferrying the families and next of kin entered the complex at 8.05am.

Cabinet ministers and ambassadors were also seen arriving to the complex to receive the remains of Malaysians who perished on board of Flight MH17.

The commercial flight carrying the nine remains is slowly taxiing to the runway at 8.30am.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor are scheduled to attend the ceremony.

MH17 crashed over eastern Ukraine on July 17, as it was en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam. On board the flight were 298 passengers including crew members of which a majority of the passengers were Dutch.
