Muhdalena rearrested at rest area

JOHOR BARU: Police have rearrested Muhdalena Ahmad, who escaped from police custody early yesterday morning in Ayer Keroh, Malacca.

It was learnt that the 30-year-old was nabbed by a Johor police team at the Ayer Keroh rest area at 3.05am. She was on the way to her family home in Sri Kembangan, Selangor.

Muhdalena grabbed the headlines when she allegedly ran amok with a samurai sword-wielding man outside the B Complex of the Prime Minister’s Department in Putrajaya two years ago.

Johor police chief Datuk Mokhtar Shariff said Muhdalena had been brought back to the state capital for further investigation.

“She is in police custody and we have obtained a two-day remand order to facilitate investigations under Section 224 of the Penal Code for escaping from police custody.”
