KUALA LUMPUR: Fairview International School Kuala Lumpur students donated RM14,000 to three non-governmental organisations (NGO) recently.
The funds were raised through various programmes, including car wash and brownie sales, which were conducted throughout the year.
The Korean Mothers Association received RM10,000, while Pride Foundation and Pertiwi Soup Kitchen received RM2,000 each.
“By doing charity, our students are helping those in need and get to spread festive joy,” said Fairview International School principal T. Nava after presenting cheques to the NGOs.
She said her students also received help from their parents in the fundraising efforts.
Earlier, the school organised
an event for some 80 children, aged 5 to 18, from Hilla Community
Centre.
Each child received a present of their choice, donated by students and their parents.
Present were Korean Embassy second secretary Seo Ki Won, The Korean Mothers Association representative Lee Moon Hee, Pride Foundation adviser Nasirah Aris and Pertiwi Soup Kitchen founder Munirah Abdul Hamid. By Nor Ain Mohamed Radhi
