KUANTAN: Firemen managed to save a tapir which was trapped in a ditch near Taman Indera Mahkota 15, here yesterday.
A team of 13 firemen rushed to the scene after a man informed the state Fire and Rescue Department that he had stumbled upon the unlucky tapir at 2pm.
State Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they managed to pull out the animal with the help from the state Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) about three hours later.
He said the tapir was later handed over to Perhilitan.
