KOTA BARU: A row of four shop houses were razed and another partially damaged in a fire at Berek 12 here earlier.
No injuries were reported in the incident which happened at about 5 pm.
A laundry, a shop selling second hand clothes and two doors of a zinc products maker were destroyed in the fire while a restaurant was partially damaged.
A witness Sapri Aziz, 28, said he was sleeping in the shop when he was awakened by a friend.
"I only managed to take away a gas tank (tong gas) to prevent it from exploding," he said.
The cause of fire and losses has not been determined.
