Man brutally slashed to death in Puchong

KUALA LUMPUR: A 30-year old man died after he was brutally slashed on the face and then run over by a car at Jalan 3/4 Puchong Perdana here last night.

In the 8.30pm incident, the canopy company employee was about to enter a shop to buy medicine when six men on motorcycles attacked him.

Subang Jaya police chief ACP Yahaya Ramli said the victim was slashed multiple times using a parang and in his attempt to escape from his attackers, he was run over by a car.

"The men who were on four motorcycles as well as the car fled the scene after the incident.

"Police are investigating whether the person driving the white car is related to the group," he said.

He added that the forensics team found that the victim was slashed on the neck, face and head not more than 10 times.

The murder was believed to be revenge-motivated, he added.

Initial investigations revealed that the victim was an ex-convict and was released from prison last year.

"Records show that the victim had served a five-year jail sentence for causing grievous hurt on a relative seven years ago," Yahaya said.

Meanwhile, the victim's 25-year-old fiancée known as Jessie who appeared at the scene was seen crying near the victim while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

"A friend called me around 8.40pm and told me that my fiancé has been murdered. I did not believe it as he just left the house to buy medicine only minutes before the incident," she said.

The senior executive at a bank said she could not even recognise the victim's face when she was called to identify him.

"But I recognised his motorcycle and the slippers he wore. So that was when I realise it was him," she said in between tears.

The victim's body was brought to the Serdang hospital for post-mortem.
