Firemen rescue man stuck in tree

GOMBAK: The Fire and Rescue Department received an unusual call for help today when they had to rescue a man who was stuck in a tree.

The man 28, had initially participated in a gotong-royong at Lorong Mokhtar Kampung Sungai Pusu this morning.

He has climbed the 40-foot tree to tie up branches so that they could trim it without branches falling on the people below.

However, the man soon developed cramps in his leg and was unable to climb down.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohd Sani Harul said the villagers were unable to help him as they did not have a ladder.

They then called the department for help.

The department received a distress call at 12.32pm and arrived at the scene minutes later.

"We managed to bring him down via a ladder. The man was later given treatment for cramps.
