Man killed in accident on the way to KLIA

SEPANG: A man was killed in a road accident in Jalan Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) 1, here, when the vehicle he was travelling in lost control and hit a road shoulder, yesterday.

In the 8.30pm incident, Mohd Affendi Mohammad, 36, was driving his Mitsubishi Pajero Sports to the KLIA terminal before it skidded near the Department of Civil Aviation tower and rammed into the road shoulder.

Sepang police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Ali said a passenger, a Chinese national, was injured in the accident.

"Affendi, who is a driver with Malaysian Resources Corp Berhad, died on the spot while Shang Ming Yang from Shandong, Beijing was brought to Putrajaya Hospital for treatment.

"They were on their way to KLIA to fetch Shang's friend from China who will be working in the same company." he said.

Abdul Aziz said the body of Affendi was sent to the Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem.
