KEPALA BATAS: Permatang Pauh Umno Youth has lodged 27 police reports against Bersih chairman Maria Chin Abdullah over her group's plans to hold Bersih rallies at several locations nationwide.
Its chief Abu Bakar Sidekh Zainul Abidin said Chin had been quoted in an online article as saying that Bersih is set to organise a rally in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 19.
He said the article had stated from Oct 1 onwards, there would be several rallies organised in different locations in the country — Kangar, Johor Baru, Kota Baru, Lumut, Sandakan and Miri.
"The organiser are trying to influence the participants and Malaysians to urge Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to step down and foster hatred against the government.
"The rally also aims to pit the people against the democratically-elected federal government," he told reporters here today after lodging the reports at the Seberang Perai Utara district police headquarters.
Abu Bakar also raised his concern the planned fifth Bersih rally would turn violent like the previous rallies, adding that the wing is urging the police to stop the rallies.
