Catch TV3's new Malay melodrama series, Mr Donat Karamel

HOW far would you go just to make the one you love, happy? In TV3’s new series Mr Donat Karamel, Faiq Faiqal (played by Hafidz Roshdi) will do almost anything to make Anggun (Azira Shafinaz) happy. Trouble is, the duo did not actually get off on the right foot in the beginning.

Novelist Anggun spends most of her time looking for inspiration in her favourite cafe, where she likes to enjoy a sinful caramel donut. One day, while deep in thought, a young CEO, Faiq accidentally bumps into Anggun, knocking her laptop and glasses onto the floor. Faiq feels bad and offers to replace her broken laptop.

It is love at first sight for Faiq who, after that chance meeting, can’t get Anggun out of his mind. He falls head over heels for her and starts to stay close to her whereabouts. Faiq changes his name to Rafiqi and works part-time at the cafe, where he first met Anggun.

Anggun finds herself getting attracted to Rafiqi and his bloated sense of humour.

To complicate things, Zhariff (Idris Khan) also harbours feelings for Anggun and can’t get enough of her. Zhariff then announces to everyone that he is marrying her. Now worried, Rafiqi takes the step to ask for Anggun’s hand, to which she says “yes”.

But when Anggun finds out about Rafiqi’s real identity, she is disappointed by the lies. But she decides to give him a chance to make it up to her.

Adapted from the novel of the same name by Hanny Esandra, this 13-episode TV melodrama also stars Mona Alle, Syazuwan Hassan, Fimie Don and Shamsul Ghau Ghau.

Mr Donat Karamel airs every Monday to Wednesday at 9pm on TV3.
