5-year-old crash victim passes away, mother sole survivor

JOHOR BARU: Five-year-old crash victim Aleesya Nur Jasmin Abdullah, who was hospitalised for severe head injuries after being involved in a car crash last Sunday, succumbed to her injuries and passed away last night.

Kota Tinggi police chief Superintendent Rahmat Othman said Aleesya was one of the two survivors in the accident where a Perodua Kancil overturned near Simpang Waha quarry last Sunday.

The Kancil driver, Norsuhadah Ramli, 30, survived the crash and was admitted together with daughter, Aleesya, to Sultan Ismail Hospital immediately after the incident.

The accident killed Norsuhadah’s one-year old son Muhammad Fakhri Aufa Muhamad Faidz and her niece Nur Natasya Nabiela Abdullah, 11.

Rahmat said the five-year girl, who died at about 11.30 pm last night, never regained consciousness before she died.

“A family member claimed her remains from the hospital and her funeral was held this morning at the Felda Lok Heng Muslim cemetery,” he said.

The crash happened when Norsuhadah lost control of her vehicle and skidded off the road, causing the car to overturn.
