Footage of assault on condo security guard emerges, possible link to lorry driver attack

KUALA LUMPUR: Another closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage related to the incident in which a lorry driver was attacked at a condominium in Bukit Antarabangsa, has emerged and police are carefully studying this new piece of evidence.

This time, the footage shows a group of three men roughing up a security guard at the same condominium guardhouse.

A part of the footage appeared to be similar to an earlier two-minute clip of lorry driver Nasrul Faiz Zulfahmi being beaten up by a group of men, which drew great attention on social media with many calling for justice.

Police have said that this new CCTV could be related to Nasrul’s incident, which is said to have taken place on Jan 14 at the condominium guardhouse.

In the first footage, the attackers were also seen to be warning the condominium security guards to not intervene.

However, it cannot be immediately verified if the three men in the new footage, shared by Malaysian Crime Watch Task Force’s (MyWatch) Twitter account last Sunday night, are among those who assaulted the lorry driver.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Hamzah Elias said the police will compile all related video footages and question everyone present at the scene.

“We are getting all the witnesses (to come forward) and every angle will be covered.

“Investigations are in the final stages and the findings will soon be submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers soon for further action,” he said.

The incident had occurred after the lorry driver reversed into a parked Mercedez Benz.

Last Saturday, five suspects, aged between 20 and 42, were hauled up separately by the police in Selangor and Negri Sembilan for questioning.
