Religious school teacher arrested for sexually molesting six boys since 2014

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a teacher of a religious primary school for having allegedly molested six male pupils since 2014.

The incident surrounding the male teacher, 29, based at the school in Bandar Baru Bangi, came into light when the parents of the six victims lodged police reports on Wednesday.

All the victims, who were between 11 and 12 at the time, had been ashamed to inform anyone and was afraid of the teacher.

Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Othman Nanyan said police recorded statements from the six pupils.

Othman said the parents decided to lodge a police report after the school management allegedly failed to take action despite being told of the incident about a week ago.

The teacher has been remanded until Monday (May 15) to assist investigation.

The case has been classified under Section 354/377D of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force with intent to outrage a person’s modesty.
