Ballbearing rapist escapes police custody, manhunt launched

KLANG: A notorious robber who raped a housewife in Kampung Rantau Panjang here two weeks ago has escaped police custody.

The 27-year-old Indonesian man, dubbed the ‘ballbearing rapist’ as he had three ballbearings implanted in his privates, gave police the slip when he escape through a toilet window at the Klang Utara district police headquarters around 3pm on Monday.

Klang Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner Yusoff Mamat said initial investigation revealed that the suspect went to the toilet on the pretext of answering nature’s call before he managed to pry open the window bars.

“Police investigation revealed that he tied the pair of pants he was wearing on the steel bars and twisted it enough to make a room to slip out through the toilet window at Criminal Investigation Department office.

“A manhunt has been launched to track down the suspect,” he said when contacted by the New Straits Times.

It is learnt that a large scale search party has been mounted to locate the man, who was also allegedly responsible for molesting a woman during a burglary in Meru, here in May.

Police is urging the public to come forward should they spot the suspect or if they have any information of his whereabouts to immediately contact police.

It was reported that the suspect had on June 7 raped a 34-year-old housewife when he and two accomplices broke into the woman’s house about 4am.

The incident happened in the woman’s bedroom when her husband and the couple’s 4-year-old son were asleep at the living room.

Following the incident, police launched a special operation to hunt for the gang.

They were nabbed at Shapadu Toll Plaza on June 13.
