Police arrest 3, seize drugs worth RM6,000 in a series of raid

SERDANG: Police nabbed three people including a woman and seized drugs worth RM6,000 in a series of raids in Seri Kembangan, here.

Acting on a tip-off, the raiding team had arrested a man in his 20s at Taman Sg Besi Indah here on Saturday and seized four sachets believed to contain ecstasy powder weighing 55.6g.

The team then conducted a follow-up raid at Seri Kembangan and arrested a man and a woman, also in their 20s, on the same day.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Megat Mohamad Aminuddin Megat Alias said police seized 15 pills believed to be ecstacy as well as 12 bottles of blackcurrant and ice lemon tea flavoured drinks believed to have been laced with ecstasy powder.

A Perodua Kancil and Perodua Bezza believed to be used to distribute drugs were also seized to assist investigation.

“The drugs are believed to be meant for distribution for specific customers at entertainment centres.

“Members of the public, especially youngsters are advised to be vigilant of such tactics of drugs distribution and drug abuse,” Megat Mohamad Aminuddin said in a statement.

He said the police would increase intelligence gathering and efforts to combat drug usage and distribution.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
