WATCH: Security guard punches, stomps on disabled man at Kelantan supermarket

KUALA LUMPUR: A security guard was caught on video punching a disabled man unconscious in front of a supermarket in Tumpat, Kelantan on Monday, March 19.

According to a Malay daily, the pair are co-workers and had gotten into an argument prior to the incident.

The 72-second long CCTV footage, which was uploaded to several Facebook pages, has been viewed more than 580,000 times and shared by over 8,300 people.

The shocking video sparked outrage among netizens, as the man in uniform caught the victim off guard when he punched him without warning.

After flooring the victim, the security guard stared at the man’s face before forcefully stomping his right foot on the man's chest.

However, after the victim lay motionless on the ground for a period of time, the guard began to get worried.

The attacker could then be seen placing his hand on the man's chest to check for a heartbeat, before grabbing his shirt to place him in a sitting position.

The 26-year old security guard was later arrested over the assault and remanded for four days to facilitate investigations.

Tumpat police chief Superintendent Ab. Rashid Mat Daud said that the police have taken action while still carrying out an investigation.

"The victim is currently being treated at the Tumpat Hospital after suffering injuries to his face (and head).

"The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing injury," Rashid was quoted as saying by the Malay daily. – SAYS.COM
