Remains of Sg Long nursing home fire victims arrive in hospital

KAJANG: The remains of the five people killed in a nursing home fire in Sungai Long this morning have been brought to the Kajang Hospital.

The authorities have cordoned off the mortuary due to the growing number of media personnel.

At press time, family members of the victims have yet to be seen.

The deceased were identified as Leow Chong Fatt, Teo Hoi Foo, Kwan Sak Seen, all in their 60s, as well as Lai Sew Yin, who was in her 70s.

A Pakistani warden, Awis Muhammad, 25, was also killed in the blaze.

Another occupant, Lim Chin Fatt, in his 70s, survived the incident.

The blaze which engulfed the double-storey bungalow was believed to have happened about 5am.

The cause of the fire has yet to be established.
