Set polemics aside to rebuild nation

KUALA TERENGGANU: Terengganu’s Pakatan Harapan chairman Raja Datuk Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad called on all quarters to concentrate on rebuilding the country.

He said that he had heard of many polemics and promises during the 14th General Election.

“The people now want to see the reality of constructive and positive work by all quarters.

“We must now concentrate on ‘Rebuilding Malaysia’, like what we had promised,” said Kamarul Bahrin, who is also the state Parti Amanah Negara chief.

He added that the election campaign was over and it was time to build the bridge and cooperate so that the public at large could see the positive development between the state and federal governments.

“I, as the state PH chairman, am taking a proactive attitude to preserve the situation so that the people of Terengganu are not left behind from improved changes expected to be brought by the new administration in Putrajaya,” Raja Kamarul Bahrin said in reference to bridging cooperation between the PH-led federal government and the PAS-led state government.

He commended the initiative by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for Terengganu and Kelantan to once more enjoy oil royalties, which was very welcomed by the people.

“Discussions are on-going on the distribution formula for the oil royalty,” he said, calling on all and sundry to minimise the polemic and political friction during this holy, fasting month of Ramadan.

Raja Kamarul Bahrin said it was better to discuss matters in an orderly and constructive manner, for the benefit of the people and the country.

‘This will help resolve and take into consideration, many of the people’s needs and problems.

“I recall the advice from a great statesman like Dr Mahathir that the country’s wealth will be equally savoured by the people.

“This should be the true spirit of Islamic friendship that should be exhibited during this respectful month of Ramadan,” said Raja Kamarul Bahrin.
