KUANTAN: Tengku Puan Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah is known for her passion for cooking, especially traditional dishes.
Tunku Azizah, who had also published cookbooks on traditional Pahang dishes including ‘Air Tangan Tengku Puan Pahang’, also has no qualms about rolling up her sleeves to cook for others.
Most recently, dishes like sardin masak sambal pedas, telur sambal, ayam goreng kicap, kubis goreng and kubis masak lemak were served to flood victims at several villages in the district including SK Cherating and SK Sungai Karang on Thursday.
Tunku Azizah was assisted by daughter Tengku Puteri Afzan Aminah Hafizatullah Tengku Abdullah, friends, villagers and students from Kolej Universiti Yayasan Pahang.
When met at SK Cherating evacuation centre, Tunku Azizah said she would also visit other places affected by the flood as in the past years.
“I will move from one place to another to cook for the flood victims,” she said.
Zalilawati Omar, 42, from Kampung Sungai Darat, said she was deeply touched as Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah was willing to cook for the flood victims.
“I had never thought that the first time I would enjoy Tengku Puan Pahang’s cooking would be at an evacuation centre.
“I wish to express my gratitude to Tuanku who was willing to visit and cook for us,” she said.
