PENAMPANG: A woman was traumatised after realising someone was watching her as she was peeing in the public toilet of a shopping mall along the Penampang bypass road, here, two days ago.
In the 2pm incident, the victim, in her 20s, realised a man was peeping from underneath the cubicle door.
The suspect then took off after the woman who works as a shop assistant realised what he was doing.
She tried to chase him but failed to catch up.
The victim's younger sibling who was also there saw the suspect exiting the women's toilet.
The victim lodged a report with the security guard at the mall before lodging a police report.
Penampang district police chief Dep Supt Mohd Haris Ibrahim when contacted confirmed receiving a report on the incident.
"Investigation is ongoing including tracking down the suspect," he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person.
