Three rivers in Pahang in orange zone

KUANTAN: Three rivers in Pahang have exceeded their alert level as of 11am today.

The rivers are Sungai Pahang at Kampung Sungai Yap, Jerantut, and Cameron Highlands' Sungai Ikan and Sungai Tiang-Sungai Bertam.

Sungai Pahang is at 46.63m, just slightly below its 52m danger zone. The river has been stagnant in the alert zone for the past few days.

As for Sungai Ikan, it is recorded to be at 1,273.41m with its danger level at 1,275.96m, while Sungai Tiang-Sungai Bertam is at 928.25 as of 11am today. Its red zone starts at 943.66m.

Both rivers also show no trend movements. The 27 other rivers in the state remain to be in the normal green zone.

Meanwhile, weather conditions are also looking up as only four districts, namely Kuantan, Pekan, Maran and Rompin, are expected to experience rainfall.

The four areas will continue to experience rain into the night. Jerantut is also expected to experience rain tonight.

As for tomorrow morning, only Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin are predicted to experience rainfall.

It would be a wet night for various districts where thunderstorms will develop across Temerloh, Jerantut, Lipis and Cameron Highlands, while Kuantan, Pekan, Maran and Rompin will experience rainfall.
