Watch: Toyota Hilux smashes into Ipoh car, causing 11-vehicle pile-up

IPOH: A pickup truck which suffered brake failure crashed into a car and caused nine other vehicles waiting at a traffic light to collide into each other at Jalan Raja Musa Aziz here, yesterday.

District Police chief Assistant Commissioner A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said in the 11.50am incident, the Toyota Hilux driver was on his way to work at a restaurant here.

He said the pickup truck was unable to stop as it neared a traffic light, causing it to crash into a stationary Perodua Myvi.

"As a result, the Toyota Hilux and the Perodua Myvi continued to crash into several other vehicles in front, as well as on the left and right side of the road," he said when contacted.

Other damaged vehicles in the incident are a Toyota Camry, Toyota Avanza, Honda City, Perodua Kenari, Toyota Unser, Proton Waja, Toyota Vellfire and two Perodua Axias.

A. Asmadi said no injuries were reported, and that the police have asked for the pickup truck driver's blood sample to be tested. - BERNAMA
