More than 2 in a vehicle for business purposes? Get police permission

KUALA LUMPUR: Business operators who need to ferry more than one employee in a vehicle to their premises must obtain a permission letter from the police.

Senior Minister (security cluster) Datuk Ser Ismail Sabri Yaakob during his daily livestream on Facebook today said he received a question on a case where a family of four were compounded by the police for being in the same car and traveling 30km away to their business premises.

"We have received advice from the police on the matter," he said, explaining that the police advised those concerned to obtain a letter from the police to prevent any compounds being issued to them.

On Friday, a local community news page, SJEcho reported that a hawker who sold chicken rice was issued three compounds at RM1,000 each for traveling with three of his family members in the same vehicle.

The four individuals were believed to be traveling home to Jenjarom from Subang Jaya where they operate their business when the compound was issued for violating the two-person in a car standard operating procedure (SOP) imposed for the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
