TUMPAT: A 4-year-old girl was freed by firemen after her head became stuck between the metal bars of her bed at the Tumpat Hospital here, last night.
The girl, a Covid-19 patient who was admitted to the hospital last month, was unhurt.
She had been playing on her bed when the incident occurred at about 10pm.
Eight firemen rushed to the scene to free the girl.
Tumpat Fire Rescue Department chief Wan Baijuri Wan Hassan said the team was sent to the hospital soon after they received an emergency call at 10.27pm.
"The firemen, led by Marzuki Awang, used several rescue tools to free the girl's head from the metal bars.
"They took more than an hour to complete the operation and the girl did not suffer any injuries," he added.
