New Kuala Lumpur police chief sworn in

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Bukit Aman Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) Deputy Director Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid was sworn in as the new Kuala Lumpur Police Chief today.

He is replacing Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain who assumes the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director post effective tomorrow.

A formal handing over ceremony was held at Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters between the two, witnessed by Federal Integrity and Standards Compliance Department director Datuk Seri Azri Ahmad.

Azri, in his congratulatory speech, complimented Shuhaily for his short yet exceptional service while serving as the City Police chief since May.

"I am certain that he has given his best to ensure the safety and wellbeing of KL city and its people throughout his service as city police chief. The New chief was no different in executing his duties in his former post. Thus, I'm confident that he too will continue the excellent service of Shuhaily," he said.

Azri also wished Shuhaily the very best in taking up his new role at Bukit Aman tomorrow.

Earlier, Shuhaily had 'Amanat bersama KPKL' where he offered valuable advice and his hopes for the fellow men in blue. He wished them all the very best and congratulated two officers who were recently promoted at IPKKL.

Azri earlier inspected a guard of honour before he witnessed the handing over ceremony at the contingent headquarters this morning.
