20kg python found in drain in PJ

KUALA LUMPUR: A 5 metre-long python was found in the drain in front of a house in Section 11, Petaling Jaya, yesterday evening.

The reptile, weighing 20kg, was discovered by the residential area's contractor workers before they informed the homeowner of the location where it was found.

The Selangor Civil Defence Force (APM) spokesperson said the homeowner later contacted the Selangor APM around 1.20pm.

"APM members who arrived at 2.05pm took almost 15 minutes to remove the python from the drain.

"The task of extracting the said python took about 15 minutes to ensure that the snake could not act aggressively besides ensuring the safety of the four APM members carrying out the snake-catching task," he told BH today.
