#NSTviral: Child leaning out of sunroof of moving car video - police identify vehicle owner [WATCH]

SERI ALAM: Police have identified the registered owner of a vehicle, in which a child was recorded sticking his head out the sunroof, causing a stir on social media.

District police chief Superintendent Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said investigations revealed that the one-minute and seven-second video, was recorded on Friday (Nov 17) at 9.30pm in the vicinity of Seri Alam.


"The vehicle owner has been identified, and we will be recording his statement to facilitate investigations under Section 31(1)(a) of the Children Act 2001, for negligence," he said.

The section of the act carries severe penalties, which included a fine up to RM20,000, or a maximum 10-year imprisonment term, or both.

The video of the child leaning out of the sunroof of the moving vehicle was posted on X by @mafiadhillon.

It drew numerous responds with many accusing the presumed parent who drove the car as irresponsible, while others had called for a stern action to be taken by the authorities.
