Wahab depressed, will get new date for questioning by cops

KUALA LUMPUR: Community Communications (J-KOM) Department staff Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani, who was involved in a lewd video call conversation with his boss, is currently grappling with depression, said his lawyer.

Following that, Faizal Rahman said that Wahab will have a new date for the questioning with police.

"Yes, he is currently feeling depressed," Faizal said when contacted by New Straits Times.

The lawyer also confirmed that Wahab went to a consultation but did not clarify further.

Yesterday, it was reported that Wahab has yet to appear before the police to assist with investigations, says the Inspector General of Police.

Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said that as of yesterday, Wahab has not met with police and that the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has used various methods in an effort to track down Wahab.

Previously in a press conference at a hotel in Bangi, Wahab revealed that his action of recording a lewd conversation between himself, and Mohammad Agus was orchestrated by an individual known as Mr H.

Last Friday, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director, Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, confirmed that the police recorded the statement of three individuals in the case, namely Agus, the individual who is said to be Mr H and an employee of the hotel where the press conference was held.

Shuhaily said the investigation of the case was carried out in accordance with Section 500 of the Penal Code for defamation and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 which is the improper use of network facilities or network services.
