Amirudin prepared to face PKR disciplinary board over purported controversial statements

SHAH ALAM: PKR central leadership council member Amirudin Shari is prepared to face the party’s disciplinary board for purportedly making controversial statements against certain individuals in the party.

However, the Selangor menteri besar said he had yet to receive a letter from the board demanding an explanation from him.

“I do not know what I am supposed to explain to the board as I have not received anything yet.

“Once I get it, I will respond to it,” he said today after launching the state-level Korban Perdana programme in Section 7.

Asked whether it could be related to a speech he had given during a special thanksgiving prayer to reject gutter politics last week, Amirudin said he did not know.

The special thanksgiving prayer, held at Amirudin’s official residence last week, was attended by PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and other party leaders.

Last week, PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil was quoted as saying that Amirudin, Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal and a few other party members would be called to face to the board.

This was after the party received complaints that several leaders and members had allegedly issued statements that were deemed to be personal attacks against certain individuals in the party.
