KUALA LUMPUR: Squash player Sanjay Jeeva recorded his biggest career win to reach the semi-finals of the Montreal Open in Canada on Friday.

The World No. 99 Malaysian defeated No. 43 David Baillargeon of Canada 11-9, 11-9, 11-7 in the quarter-finals.

Ninth seed Sanjay will face world No. 25 and second seed Nathan Lake of England later on Saturday for a place in the final.

Lake, 31, overcame compatriot Finnlay Withington 12-10, 11-4, 9-11, 11-7 in the quarter-finals.

Sanjay, 24, said it was his biggest win of his career.

"It feels good to beat my training partner Baillargeon in straight game as he is 56 rungs above me in the rankings.

"I won because I played to a game plan and remained disciplined throughout the match."

Asked about his chances against Lake, Sanjay said: "He is an experienced player, but he is not fast on the court.

"I will use this opportunity to get the better of him," said Sanjay, who has won four PSA Satellite titles.
