Ameen Amaendran is redONE's new CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: RedONE Network Sdn Bhd (redONE) says Ameen Amaendran has been appointed as its new chief executive officer for Malaysia.

Ameen replaces Farid Yunus who in turn has been redesignated to group chief executive officer of redONE Holdings.

Ameen has 22 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, including numerous jobs at Malaysia's two main mobile network carriers.

In 2018, he was transferred by CelcomDigi Bhd to a local mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) where he turned a business that was losing money into an MVNO that generates eight figures in profits yearly.

Having been seconded by CelcomDigi for a year in February 2016, this will be his second stint at redONE.

"I am looking forward to returning to redONE and especially to help them grow their market share in the prepaid segment.

"As the only postpaid MVNO in Malaysia with over a million subscribers, they have significant growth opportunities with prepaid," he said.

RedONE entered the microfinance space by launching redCASH earlier this year, providing loans of up to RM10,000 to its current customers, in addition to postpaid and prepaid mobile services.

Additional services offered include electronic products (redMALL) and insurance (redCARE).
