KUALA LUMPUR: Who would have thought that the romantic journey shared by newlyweds, actress Izara Aishah Muhammad Adib Khalid, was helped along by fellow actress Ummi Nazeera?
On her Instagram account, Ummi wrote that Adib had asked her to be the middle person and to mention nice things about him during a concert by his stepmother, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, which Izara also attended.
She wrote: “I wanna take the credit of being a part of introducing Izara to Adib! @adib_khalid u owe me! Adib is my childhood friend.”
Apparently they were classmates in Form 1 and Form 2, and again much later while at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.
Ummi Nazeera further wrote: "Ummi, u coming to Mak Itis concert tonight right? Help say good things about me to Izara. Wanna get to know her."
Ummi said that after the Siti concert, the media had jumped to the conclusion that she and Adib were an item.
She wrote: “hellooo I was trying to matchmake them that night. if u look at the gossip photo closely, you will notice I was sitting in between Izara and Adib! Adib masa tu malu malu lagi nak cakap.”
Izara, 25, married Adib, 27, last Friday in a closed solemnisation ceremony at an undisclosed location in Damansara.
