#Showbiz: Diana Danielle heading to US, family in tow

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actress Datin Diana Danielle made a statement recently that she will be heading to the US in July.

In a news report today, the Gol & Gincu Vol: 2 and Hanyut star said that she would be attending a two-month course in film production at the Los Angeles campus of the famous New York Film Academy (NYFA).

"I've wished for a long time to continue my studies so praise God that it has come true.

"God willing, everthing will go well and I will be able to head over to LA in July for a short course in film production," said the 27-year-old actress.

Diana added that the course was fully paid for by Finas (National Film Development Corporation Malaysia) as a reward for her Best Supporting Actress win for Hanyut at last year's 29th Malaysia Film Festival event.

She praised Finas for rewarding arts practitioners with the chance to further develop themselves, especially by gaining knowledge overseas, and hoped that this would continue.

Talking about her upcoming course, Diana explained that she chose film production due to her aspiration to one day establish her own production company.

"I've already planned for this and taking up this course is just a step towards realising my goal," she said.

The actress also revealed that she would be accompanied by her family, actor and director Datuk Farid Kamil, as well as their two children, Muhammad and Nur Aurora.

"It's better to bring them along since I'll be away for awhile.

"This means I'll also be able to take the children around to visit interesting places in LA and I might only return to Malaysia at the end of the year," she said.

Prior to this, Diana had completed an acting course, also at NYFA in LA, in 2011 and furthered her studies in live production at Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 2013.
