#Showbiz: Diana is a strong woman, unlike others, says Lisa Surihani

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Lisa Surihani has expressed her sympathy towards fellow actor Datuk Farid Kamil who has been sentenced to nine months in jail for drug abuse.

Viewing his wife and fellow actress Datin Diana Danielle as a tough cookie, Lisa said that the situation which had befallen the family of four was indeed a bitter pill to swallow.

“I know it’s not easy to go through what she is going through. Knowing her for some time now, Diana is one strong woman.

“And I cannot find the same strength that she has in other women. I’m confident that she will be able to go through this trying time with her family just like how she has proven herself in the past,” said the 33-year-old artiste in a news report yesterday.

Lisa said that even though she knew that Diana was okay, as her close friend, she would call Diana to check up on her.

“The least I can do is to show my support for her, and praying for the well-being of Farid Kamil and his family,” added Lisa who acted alongside the actor in the 2010 movie Lagenda Budak Setan.

The father of two was charged with using “11-nor-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acid” or THC drugs at the narcotics office, Petaling Jaya district police headquarters, at 4.30pm on Jan 11 last year.

The offence falls under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries a maximum two years’ imprisonment or RM5,000 fine or both, upon conviction.
